In September we held a very successful Tea Dance. Eric Blackledge on the organ and during the break, Brandon Rushworth with records. A scruptious tea of fresh sandwiches filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese, ham and tomato, cream cheese with cucumber and red salmon. In addition, home made cakes and all served with tea or coffee.
We have had requests to do a repeat next year - or earlier!
Speaking of next year, in 1918 as the Great War ended, the ladies of Friskney gathered together to form a Women's Institute. We will be celebrating the 90th year with several special events, the main event in December, the month the first meeting was held.
Going from strength to strength each year is Friskney Village Show, originally the concept of a few W.I. ladies. Next year the show organisers are hoping to involve surrounding W.I's to enter the show competitions to win the W.I. cup. Naturally, Friskney are detiermined to win!
